Really excited, honoured and humbled to have received the Microsoft Data Platform Most Valuable Professional (MVP)  award for a 6th year.

Being a part of a technical community is an amazing thing and being able to help the community grow is what  makes my day. Thank you Microsoft for the recognition.

Excited to receive my 5th MVP award kit containing my 5th disk to go on my MVP Crystal Award.

I am also looking forward to receiving my 5 years milestone disk as an MVP in a few weeks as well. Working with community events enabling others to get access to free training and helping others learn is so important. Here is to the next year and seeing what exciting things we can make happen.

Microsoft MVP for a third year

During such a life changing time, I am over the moon with joy to be honoured with my third Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award in recognition of exceptional technical community leadership for Data Platform for 2020-2021. How amazing to receive this. Thank you @MVPAward #MVPBuzz . There are so many amazing MVP's who help the community improve and grow their data platform knowledge. I am passionate about helping share the knowledge and experience I have gained.

This has been a strange period with many events cancelled and turned into virtual events. As an organizer of  Data Relay this year we cancelled our event to make way for SQLBits to move into the only viable slot this year. As things are still ongoing I think it is unlikely any in person conferences will continue this year.  However there are some amazing free online events to attend. My thoughts have been on helping and supporting the local community as well as the data community.

The thing I  value the most is helping and sharing data innovations with the community.  There are so many exciting developments, opportunities and benefits for the communities that data can bring. People are having extraordinary visions for the future, brought about with data and advanced analytics working together to solve complex problems.

I am looking forward to the next year of exciting data events.

A Second Data Platform MVP Award

I am very excited to have received my second Data Platform MVP award. What an honour to receive this along with so many amazing Most Valuable Professionals (MVP).  It is such a privilege to share my passion for data with the community #MVPBuzz #SQLFamily 

The Microsoft Data Platform award is an amazing award. It recognizes exceptional technology community leaders worldwide who actively share their high quality, real world expertise with users and Microsoft.

There are so many exciting things approaching to share with the community. A few highlights are:

• Microsoft Ignite
• PASS Summit
• Data Relay UK
• SQL Server 2019 Big Data Clusters when it becomes available

I am keen to see what advancements may come from AI integration and always thinking about diversity and inclusion. It is great to think about data strategy and the power it holds over the future of business.

At Microsoft Ignite 2018 Microsoft devoted an entire wall to list all the names of the MVPs. I felt very humbled to have my name on the MVP wall with so many amazing people. It is such a privilege to be a part of the Microsoft Data Community. #datafamily #MVPbuzz
